Athletes in the US and Canada will talk about the use of cannabis for the treatment of occupational injuries
A4C is involved in research initiatives that help confirm the powerful healing properties of cannabinoid medicine and offer viable solutions for the treatment of professional injuries of athletes and ordinary citizens.
The pages of the specialized electronic publication of Ukrainian cannabis have already described how “ CBD helps recover injuries in athletes, ” why “ Cannabinoids are used in professional sports in the US, ” focused on “ Why will non-drug-based cannabinoids be used in the next few years? ” actively used in professional sports . " A little more than a month ago it was described as “The NHL initiates studies aimed at studying the effect of CBD on the health of professional athletes .” This publication provides information on how non-governmental organizations contribute to the study of the therapeutic properties of cannabis, as well as the use of this knowledge to treat occupational injuries of athletes, as well as various kinds of severe, including chronic diseases.
Brand New Leaf Canada (NLC, positioning itself as a product for health and well-being) in March 2019 announced that the company will donate $ 56,500 (C $ 75,000) to the non-profit organization Athletes For CARE (A4C). In addition, the NLC pledged to support the initiatives of the above-mentioned charitable organization to raise funds to support its research and educational initiatives related to the use of the therapeutic properties of cannabis for the treatment of sports and occupational injuries.
Speaking with the media about this, One of the co-founders of Athletes for CARE, Riley Cote (formerly player of the National Hockey League), stressed that “A4C is participating in research initiatives that help confirm the powerful healing properties of cannabinoid medicine and offer viable solutions for the treatment of professional injuries of athletes and ordinary citizens. The organization includes approximately 90 ambassadors, who until recently played professionally in football, hockey, tennis, volleyball, boxing, mixed martial arts, athletics, skating, rugby, basketball, snowboarding, cycling, swimming, triathlon, lacrosse, figure skating, as well as some other sports disciplines. "
Anna Valent, executive director of A4C and a former swimmer in the National University Sports Association (NCAA), explained to the question about financial injections from the side of the NLC that despite the fact that the organization headed by her already works with individual athletes, various sports organizations, as well as research teams in Canada, this kind of donation will help the nonprofit organization headed by her to create the necessary infrastructure for expanding the halo of their activities in areas of research and education. According to her, “Expansion includes the creation of a Canadian non-profit organization, the expansion of programs initiated by Athletes in Canada that are being launched by Athletes for CARE. They will allow us to expand the research conducted by A4C specialists in Canada, as well as the development of training materials related to the legal use of cannabis in North America. ”
Ms. Valen explained that former NHL player Ryan Vanden Busse (Ryan VandenBussche) was not only an A4C ambassador, but also one of the creators of the brand New Leaf Canada. According to the executive director of A4C, “When Ryan and his team“ launched ”NewLeaf, they wanted to take part in creating a brand that symbolizes health and well-being, so it’s not surprising that this organization decided to become an A4C donor.
Speaking about the partnership with Athletes for CARE and the donations of New Leaf Canada, Mr. Vanden Busse focused on the fact that in his opinion A4C and NLC are natural allies in activities aimed at increasing the use of the therapeutic properties of cannabis to solve health problems experienced by professional athletes after finishing a career in professional sports. In particular, according to Ryan Vanden Busse, “My evolution from the hockey player to the functionary of the hemp industry was connected with necessity. After graduating from a professional career, I had to look for an alternative to traditional pharmacological drugs that could not solve my health problems related to the career of a professional hockey player. Working with A4C provides us with an invaluable opportunity to access the results of research, and also gives the right to share relevant experience and teach the use of various new methods of treatment with the help of cannabis as professional diseases of athletes, as well as diseases traditionally found in ordinary people. ” The former hockey player noted that the basic tenets of the existence of the NLC "are consistent with the research activities conducted by A4C, so everything will be done to help them in financing to find new ways to use the therapeutic properties of cannabis in the treatment of professional diseases of athletes."
