The fact that such an international giant as Unilever enters the legal cannabis market is a clear signal that top managers of international companies have overcome the complexes related to the use of hemp ingredients in the products manufactured by their companies. Given the agiotage on the market, as well as the therapeutic properties of various hemp components, the giants of the global food, cosmetic, and pharmacological industries are increasingly deciding not only to explore the potential of this market, but also invest resources in creating products containing various drug-free cannabinoids and developing strategies for commercialization of consumer interest in these products.

Dutch-British multinational company Unilever is entering the cannabinoid market. Through its subsidiary Schmidt Naturals, in 2019 a deodorant should be brought to the market, with cannabidiol (CBD) added to its formulation.

Considering the results of an analysis of consulting companies specializing in research on the hemp market of the North American continent (it is expected that there will be 25 million regular cannabidiol consumers in the country in 2025 and a total annual market turnover of $ 16 billion), in 2017 Unilever acquired Schmidt's Naturals. In particular, a company spokesman for the media said that "It was through Schmidt's Naturals that in 2019 Unilever enters the hemp market and brings out a new product filled with CBD."

Michael Cammarata, CEO of Schmidt's Naturals, emphasizes that "CBD is the most powerful ingredient that will appear on the personal care products market over the next 10 years." According to Mr. Kammarat, despite the fact that Schmidt Naturals can pursue an independent policy on the market, the parent structure "definitely played a decisive role in making decisions about the sale of cosmetic products rich in drug-free cannabinoids." In particular, deodorants with CBD should appear on the shelves of Target stores in the US in September. Those. at the same time, the product will appear in more than two thousand retail stores in the country.

The developed formulation of a line of cosmetic products with cannabidiol maximally effectively using the natural properties of the above drug-free cannabinoid helps fight unpleasant odors, has a beneficial effect on the skin, and also, thanks to natural anti-inflammatory properties, significantly reduces irritation, such as during shaving.
