Hemp - the rising star of modern cosmetics
The use of synergy Omega-3 and 6 with natural humic acids makes it possible to significantly increase the biologically active properties of hemp in cosmetic preparations. In the course of the research conducted by the information-analytical site Hempconsulting , the quality data was not only confirmed in the laboratory. During the first day of the Hemp University , it is planned to sign relevant contracts, through which a number of cosmetic products from the category of "professional cosmetics" will be released on the domestic market of our country already in 2019, which will be able to cope with the following skin problems: wrinkles, redness, herpes , vitiligo, lupus, etc., up to non-critical stages of skin cancer.
Already several hemp brands known in the cosmetic world are offering their consumers OTC creams and oils based on various hemp derivatives, including cannabinoids. Let's try to understand the merits of the above cosmetic products, the legality of their distribution, as well as use.
Hemp raw materials are already used in a variety of cosmetic products - moisturizing face creams, bath balls, nourishing and essential oils, and even refreshing wipes. In 2019, dozens of cosmetic companies in Europe, Asia, and South and North America brought out cosmetic products developed by them, made on the basis of various components or derivatives of cannabis. In March alone, Joliderm, Ho Karan, Fyllde, Bernard Cassière, The Body Shop launched a number of cannabis / cannabinoid cosmetic products on the market.
Hemp in cosmetics - what the law says
A huge number of cosmetic products are positioned as containing non-narcotic cannabinoids (primarily cannabidiol) most recently appeared on the markets of economically developed countries. Currently, the use of drug-free cannabinoids in the formulations of cosmetics in most countries of the world is part of a wide discussion, which is considered the basis of legal uncertainty on this issue.
According to the logic of government officials, technical varieties of cannabis are on the list of cultivated varieties that contain a trace amount of controlled substances that can be used for industrial and commercial purposes. In order for the controlling and law enforcement agencies not to pursue producers and consumers, products made on the basis of hemp must meet the following conditions:
- cosmetic preparations made on the basis of hemp seeds are generally not subject to control by the state;
- the use of raw materials should be exclusively from industrial crops of technical hemp (for the EU 0.2% for the USA, Canada, Australia 0.3%, Italy 0.6%, Switzerland 1% TGC);
- the amount of THC in the final product varies significantly from country to country, but the general principle is that in the final product made from technical hemp, the amount of tetrahydrocannabinol should have a trace character (that is, the final product should not have a psycho-actin effect).
Exclusive cosmetic properties of hemp cosmetics, made on the basis of hemp seeds or their derivatives
Seeds contain essential fatty acids (Omega-3 and 6) in an ideal 1: 3 relationship for the human body. These elements are vital to one and the human scalp, but they are not synthesized by mammals, so consumers can receive them exclusively from the outside, for example, using cosmetic preparations made from hemp seeds or their derivatives (oil, cake, concentrate).
Directly on the skin, the above mentioned essential fatty acids restore elasticity and are involved in the regeneration of a hydrolipidic film (protective film of the skin), which at the level of sensations is noted as an ideal skin softening agent. As a result, cosmetics made on the basis of hemp seeds or their derivatives help fight skin dehydration and various redness.
The above benefits of hemp cosmetics also apply to the scalp. The use of hemp seeds and their derivatives in various shampoos, lotions improves the nourishment of the hair, gives them a natural shine, removes weakness, and also significantly improves their flexibility.
In addition, hemp cosmetics has natural antioxidant, moisturizing and sebum regulating properties. In a significant number of cases, derivatives of hemp seeds are added to the formulation of cosmetic preparations in order to improve the composition or increase the biologically active properties of creams, masks, tonics, etc.
