Winabis Hemp Winabis
This is a completely new type of product, suggesting its use by a wide range of consumers who want to receive not only a high-quality wine product, but a product that contains a significant amount of cannabinoids, i.e. has a significant therapeutic effect.
On the pages of the specialized electronic publication of Ukrainian growers, not once did they focus on the features of “ Hemp wines from Italy ” or the United States or how they are promoted “ To the food market of North America ”. It was briefly described as May 2017 for the first time presented Hemp Wine at a Wine Fair in Spain , and in 2018 debuted on the US market Hemp Wine Using Hemp Oil in the recipe . This material will provide information on how Spanish Winabis hemp wine was presented for the first time at the ProWein trade show in Düsseldorf.
The peculiarity of this hemp wine is its bright green color, strong aroma of hemp, as well as a special aftertaste that remains in the mouth. Rowdy Lomuller, export manager for the Spanish winery Santa Margarita, who makes this alcoholic beverage focuses on “Double taste. The exquisite drink has the taste of a wine made from the verdejo grape variety and the smell inherent in the hemp product. ” According to him, this is a completely legitimate product, since in the course of production a “green mass” of hemp varieties is used, in which the amount of tetrahydrocannabinol does not exceed 0.2%. The use of Winabis hemp wine does not imply the euphoric effects inherent in recreational cannabis varieties.
The first batch of Winabis hemp wine in the amount of 60 thousand bottles was brought to the European market since November 2018 and was sold in a few months of 2018 - the beginning of 2019. The main sales markets were the Scandinavian countries, Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands, Spain. A significant amount of hemp wine has been realized through the benefits of electronic commerce. Managers of the company are actively working in the direction of promoting Winabis hemp wine to the markets of Italy, France, Greece, as well as former countries that until recently were part of the Warsaw Pact.
According to Mr. Lomüller, the production of hemp wine is not a marketing ploy, which allows selling traditional wine using any kind of highlights. This is a completely new type of product, suggesting its use by a wide range of consumers who want to receive not only a high-quality wine product, but a product that contains a significant amount of cannabinoids, i.e. has a significant therapeutic effect. “We do not compare Winabis with traditional wine. The basic idea of producing an alcoholic product using the therapeutic properties of technical hemp is the discovery of new promising markets. Consumers are given the opportunity to choose whether they want to use traditional wine, or a similar product that has the traditional taste of wine, but has a peculiar smell of hemp and, most importantly, has significant therapeutic properties. ”
Commentary of the Association "Ukrainian technical hemp"
The winery Santa Margarita uses raw materials from 120 hectares of industrial sowing technical hemp. Technologists of the company are constantly experimenting, annually introducing several unconventional alcoholic products to the EU market. In particular, in 2016, the winery launched the Passion Blue Chardonnay wine brand of blue color, which is already sold at 500 thousand bottles a year. In addition, Santa Margarita introduced several brands of orange and pink wines to the market, which allowed it to increase sales of wine produced by the winery several times. At the moment, the company's order book consists of more than half of the non-traditional (“colored”) wine brands. Only a third of the products produced by the company is a classic wine.
