Hemp in Europe have decided to get rid of drug properties

heading_title

Biochemists UK and Spain put forward the theory of synthesis of legal cannabis-based pain medication. This substance can be deprived of narcotic properties without compromising its analgesic role.

In Barcelona's authors conducted laboratory experiments on mice that lacked serotonin receptors 5HT2AR. They learned how to change behavior, memory and sensitivity to pain in animals under the influence of the active ingredient of cannabis. As stated in the report, in the absence of serotonin receptors intoxicating properties of cannabis did not appear, lapses of memory in mice also did not cause substance, but its analgesic properties have been preserved in its entirety.

Based on these findings, the researchers suggest that the negative properties of cannabis disappear if its active ingredient at the same time can not affect the serotonin and cannabinoid receptors person.

In their view, to achieve this result in two ways. First - a synthesized version of the active component, that will not bind to the cannabinoid receptors in the vicinity of serotonin. The second - to synthesize the drug, which is a part of the substance, limiting communication between these two types of receptors.

Authors remains to establish whether serotonin and cannabinoid receptors are next in the human brain, and then synthesize the drug itself. They stated that in parallel will investigate how the active ingredient of cannabis is useful to slow the growth of cancer tumors.
