More than 200 Italian parliamentarians supported a bill to legalize medical cannabis in the Apennines.
The relevant draft law, under which was signed by 218 members of parliament from different political parties, including the ruling Democratic Party and the opposition of the "Movement 5 Stars", was introduced in July in the Chamber of Deputies Senator Benedetto Della Vedova.

According to the authors of this initiative, the psychoactive cannabis should be allowed for adults, but not more than 15 grams at home and 5 grams beyond. In addition, it is proposed to allow to cultivate at home up to five plants with no opportunity to sell their crops. This maintains a complete ban on its use by minors.

"Today psychoactive hemp used in large quantities, but this criminal business. Those who use recreational cannabis for medical purposes mafia bring money. We're talking about the fact that it should be legalized, taxed and controlled," - explained Della Vedova.
