Growth prospects for the USA hemp market

In particular, according to the estimates of Vote Hemp in 2018, the area of ​​industrial crops of technical hemp exceeded 31 thousand hectares, against just over 10 thousand hectares in 2017. Last year, in five states, the United States first decided to cultivate industrial crops of technical hemp, in particular in Illinois 0.04 ha; Massachusetts - 8 ha; Oklahoma - 180 ha; South Carolina  104 ha; Wisconsin - 749 ha. There has been a rapid increase in the areas of low-narcotic hemp crops in Montana. In particular, industrial crops in the region have grown from 219 ha in 2017, to more than 8900 ha in 2018.

Given the adoption of the necessary regulatory framework governing the possibility of insuring the crop, obtaining agricultural loans, as well as participating in federal assistance programs for farmers, we can predict a rapid increase in the area of ​​low-narcotic cannabis crops in the United States in 2019. In particular, according to Hemp Industry Daily, sales of cannabidiol derived from green mass cannabis will grow over the next few years to $ 6.1-7.5 billion.
