Why Dutch CBD Oil in Ireland Is Discontinued

heading_title

It is necessary not only to provide an opportunity for domestic producers to develop, but also to strictly control exported products to our country due to at least a mismatch between the permitted amount of tetrahydrocannabinol in products in different EU countries, not to mention Canadian or Israeli products rich in cannabinoids, including those prohibited by THC .

On the pages of the profile electronic publication of Ukrainian hemp breeders, it was previously indicated that the five-year pilot program “ Use of hemp for medical purposes in Ireland ” was launched in 2019 . Just a month after it began, a number of government agencies began to have questions for exporters of CBD products to the country. This material describes why Dutch CBD oil of the Euphoria trademark was withdrawn from sales.

The Irish Food Safety Authority (FSAI) recalled a batch of CBD oil from a wholesale / retail network and found that it contained a significant amount of a worldwide banned substance. After a corresponding analysis, the experts of the above state institution found an unacceptable amount of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) in CBD oil of the Euphoria trademark from the Netherlands.

After the publication of the results of the examinations, government officials formally asked distributors to withdraw Euphoria CBD oil from the market. Retailers were asked to withdraw the above product from sales and officially inform customers of the presence of a substance prohibited in Ireland in the product.

Commentary of the Ukrainian Technical Hemp Association

Products based on non-drug cannabinoids, including cannabidiol, may be legally sold in Ireland. Various kinds of biologically active additives or drugs based on non-drug cannabinoids are used by patients in the country suffering from epilepsy, chronic pain, spasticity, insomnia and anxiety if they are approved for FSAI sales.

This kind of precedent should be a lesson for Ukrainian government officials who, after a not very long time, will return to considering the use of hemp for medical purposes (based on the Law of Ukraine “On the Rules of the Verkhovna Rada” initiated by signing a petition on the need to “Legislatively regulate cannabis for science and medicine - to protect the constitutional rights of citizens "bill No. 10313" On ensuring the fundamental right to life "is currently considered withdrawn). By analogy with German government agencies, it is necessary not only to provide an opportunity for domestic producers to develop, but also to tightly control exported products to our country due to at least a mismatch between the permitted amount of tetrahydrocannabinol in products in different EU countries, not to mention Canadian or Israeli products rich in cannabinoids, including banned THC.
