Natural cannabidiol is more effective than conventional treatments for skin problems
Topical application of natural cannabidiol
has shown benefits in the treatment of various skin conditions, including
psoriasis, erythema, pruritus, and acne. Plant derived CBD is associated with
effective wound healing in patients with refractory leg ulcers and rare
epidermolysis bullosa causing skin blistering.
Just last week, the editors of the specialized electronic
edition of national hemp growers focused the attention of our respected readers
and listeners on national developments related to the use of “ Cannabinoid cream as a local anesthetic ”. The value of the information of
our Italian colleagues is not only related to the fact that it confirms the
data obtained by specialized specialists in Ukraine, but also demonstrates the
possibility of using natural cannabidiol for the treatment of specific
dermatological diseases.
According to randomized trials published in the journal
Advances in Skin & Wound Care, the use of plant -based cannabidiol
(CBD/CBD) effectively alleviates pain associated with wounds and promotes
healing of skin ulcers in patients with scleroderma.
Italian researchers evaluated the effectiveness of topical
application of plant cannabidiol compared with conventional drugs in a group of
patients with scleroderma and finger ulcers (skin ulcers on the fingertips).
For the experiments, twenty-five patients were randomly selected to receive
topical herbal cannabidiol for one month, while the remaining 20 received
conventional treatment.
Subjects in the group using the topical herbal cannabidiol
mechanism experienced better pain relief and observed better wound healing than
those in the control group. The authors of the ongoing experiments state:
“Although mean NRS [numerical rating scale] scores for wound-related pain did
not differ between CBD and control patients at baseline, their scores were
already significantly different after one month. . In particular, patients in
the herbal cannabidiol treatment group experienced a 29% reduction in pain
during the experiments, while patients in the control group experienced only a
6% reduction in pain.
The researchers found that “in terms of complete healing of
finger ulcers, 18 out of 25 patients in the herbal cannabidiol group (72%) had
a problem resolved at the end of the experiments. In contrast, complete
recovery was seen in only 6 out of 20 participants in the control group (30%).”
Patients treated with CBD did not experience any
significant side effects during the study period.
According to the authors of the experiments, “The present
study is the first to report the efficacy of topical treatment with natural
cannabidiol used to treat finger ulcers in systemic sclerosis. Topical use of
plant-derived CBD is a safe, effective and non-invasive treatment that works
great for reducing wound-related pain, healing, and improving the quality of
life of patients with sclerotic manifestations.”
Topical application of cannabinoids, and in particular
natural cannabidiol, has shown benefits in the treatment of various skin
conditions, including psoriasis, erythema, pruritus, and acne. Plant derived
