The legislation of certain countries, related to the medical use of cannabis

Peculiarities of using psychoactive cannabis for medical purposes in some countries in Europe, North and South America.
The main legal ways of using the therapeutic properties of the plant:
- Pharmaceutical products, with standardized content of the active ingredient, presented in the form of pharmaceutical preparations either pure THC and CBD substances extracted from psychoactive cannabis (Sativex® or synthetic analogs or Marinol® Cesamet®)
- Official stamps medical cannabis, with a stable amount of THC and CBD - Bedrocan®, Bedrobinol®, Bediol®, Bedica®, Bedrolite® and Bedropuur®.
The proven therapeutic effects resulting from the use of psychoactive cannabis:
- It improves a number of heavy flow, including chronic diseases, but the use of hemp does not lead to complete cure;
- Significantly eases nausea and retching, and also stimulates appetite in patients with cancer and HIV / AIDS syndrome;
- Effectively used to relieve chronic pain, muscle spasms and spasticity in patients with neurodegenerative diseases (multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injury and neuropathic pain).
Below are the features of the use of psychoactive cannabis for medical purposes in different continents:
• Canada - storage, consumption or cultivation of cannabis for medical purposes is legal. There is a system of licensing with the possibility of involvement of authorized licensed producers (the decision to bring the authorized persons takes the patient); the patient needs a prescription as "medical instrument", confirming the need for the use of psychoactive hemp
• United States - at the federal level psychoactive hemp on the list of especially dangerous narcotic drugs, turnover of which is prohibited (ie activities with therapeutic cannabis are illegal). At the level of the legal framework 28 US states, the District of Columbia, Guam and Puerto Rico individual actions with psychoactive hemp allowed. In particular, the registered patients, agricultural producers, distributors receive immunity from prosecution on the territory of the state, psychoactive hemp issued on doctor's advice, rather than prescription. Most of the articles that regulate the distribution of medical cannabis include the need to bring this to the respective dispensaries
• Brazil - allowed import of medicines and various products containing THC and CBD. Psychoactive cannabis available on prescription
• Colombia - the cultivation, consumption, export and import of cannabis for medical and scientific purposes legalized (with license)
• Chile - at the level of normative-legal acts allowed the cultivation of cannabis for medical purposes. There is a pilot project for the production of psychoactive cannabis for medical purposes
• Uruguay - growing, sale, use of psychoactive cannabis legalized. Production, distribution and purchase of cannabis for medical and scientific purposes is governed. Therapeutic cannabis available for purchase in pharmacies by prescription.
