What is remarkable about the opening of a cancer center in Jamaica to representatives of the national cannabis business
Citizens of our country suffering from oncological diseases have to be sent for treatment to foreign clinics, in which Ukrainian specialists, using national methods, work on Ukrainian drugs made on the basis of the therapeutic properties of technical hemp of therapeutic orientation. An alternative option for helping patients suffering from oncological diseases on the territory of our country is treatment in Ukraine using drugs similar to hemp, in which the therapeutically active elements of the hemp plant are replaced by more expensive and not always more effective analogues.
Medical cannabis company Apollon Formularies PLC told the media that it had signed a long-term lease for its first international cancer center in Jamaica's capital Kingston, through its subsidiary Apollon Jamaica. The new facility will specialize in complementary and alternative medical treatment for cancer patients and will allow the company to expand its patient care program for both Jamaican and international patients.
According to Apollon Jamaica Executive Director Paul Burke, “We are very proud to be opening a cancer center and providing cannabis medicinal products to Jamaican citizens and to patients who come from other countries to receive treatment specifically for this purpose. We are assembling a team of highly qualified licensed Jamaican doctors who have experience in treating cancer patients and are fully aware of quality, complementary and alternative medical care to work in the newly opened institution. ”
“We are delighted with the opening of the International Cancer Institute in Jamaica, which will enable us to begin treating patients with various types of cancer with complementary and alternative medical care. This is an important milestone for the company as it is the first wholly owned facility by Apollon Formularies PLC to treat patients with cannabis-derived medications. It also provides us with a unique opportunity to collect invaluable data to fully determine the efficacy of cannabis therapeutic products directly on patients, ”said Stephen D. Barnhill, CEO of Apollon Formularies PLC.
Commentary of the specialists of the Association "Ukrainian technical hemp"
The results demonstrating the extraordinary effectiveness of the use of the medicinal properties of the leaves and inflorescences of technical hemp of therapeutic orientation of the "Mriya" variety are shown to the listeners of the " Hemp University " during specialized round tables . Due to the absence of current legislation regulating the use of various derivatives of hemp plant flowers that exclude extraction, they are effectively used not only for prevention, but also for the treatment of the most severe forms of cancer, national developments on this issue, to our deep regret, are currently being implemented in clinics in Switzerland, Austria , USA, Great Britain, as well as a number of other economically developed countries. An example of Michel Tereshchenko's statement, voiced by him several years ago through social networks, and the absolutely predictable unhealthy reaction of law enforcement officials to such initiatives suggests that the creation of such a clinic in Ukraine is possible (there are effective drugs and highly qualified employees who can apply them), however, until the regulation of this type of activity by the native state in the near future is unlikely. That is why the citizens of our country suffering from oncological diseases have to be sent for treatment to foreign clinics, in which Ukrainian specialists, using national methods, work on Ukrainian drugs made on the basis of the therapeutic properties of technical hemp of a therapeutic orientation. An alternative option for helping patients suffering from oncological diseases on the territory of our country is treatment in Ukraine using drugs similar to hemp, in which the therapeutically active elements of the hemp plant are replaced by more expensive and not always more effective analogues.
