But technical hemp and marijuana are not the same thing. And cannabis business can have up to 1000% profitability.

Together with the expert, we found only 5 reasons why you need to seriously think about cannabis business. And there are three reasons that can become an obstacle to obtaining fabulous profits.

How are hemp different from marijuana?

I want to note right away that there is a difference - and a fundamental one. There is practically no external difference between hemp and marijuana - these are plants of the same species. But technical hemp (it is also called non-narcotic) contains narcotic substances in an amount below 0.08%.

The content of tetrahydrocannabinol, the globally controlled psychoactive component of cannabis, in such hemp is so low that to get the effect of drug intoxication, you will have to smoke raw materials from 15-20 hectares of industrial hemp.

In the world, hemp is used for the manufacture of food products, cosmetics, textiles, in the pulp and paper industry, bioenergy, the pharmacological and medical industries - about 50,000 different types of products.

In any direction, the profitability of the business will be completely different, but the profit in any field of industrial hemp breeding has not yet fallen below 70-100 percent. Well, unless of course, our farmers did not spoil when planting so that the plant itself did not grow.

The production involves seeds, stems, leaves, hemp flowers - and even roots. But plant biology cannot be fooled - if you want to get high-quality raw materials, the collection period will be different. So, if you want to get the best seeds, then the leaves of inflorescences, and the hemp stalk during the seed collection period will be suitable only for the production of coarse tissue or in bioenergy.

Unpretentiousness of a plant

Technical hemp is unpretentious in cultivation. She does not need any pesticides to control pests, and she can easily withstand the heat, aridity and temperature changes at which other plants die.

In addition, hemp is an excellent green fertilizer and one of the best phytoremedants in the world - plants that restore soils. Hemp plant can be grown on poor soils and therefore does not encroach on the food security of other crops.

Low competition

In Europe last year, more than 42 thousand hectares of hemp were sown, China generally plans to increase plantings to almost 670 thousand hectares within 5-7 years.

In Ukraine, today there are up to 1,500 hectares of hemp, and they are used for different areas of production.

Attention from the security forces

For farmers, I see no difficulty in cultivating and processing hemp. Here, difficulties are created mainly by our civil servants. First of all, this applies to representatives of the Ministry of the Interior, who are involved in the issue of hemp breeding, not in order to "protect the homeland", but from the category of "money to earn."

A live example has recently taken place in the Kiev region: some guy comes up to the legal hemp field, says, they say, let's have a smoke.

They do not have time to refuse him, when a police car unexpectedly arrives and begins to tell that the field is illegal, they say, there are some applicant materials. Traditionally, each of the security officials has a pocket "applicant". Then it all depends on the imagination of the operatives.

They may violate criminal proceedings in an absolutely legal field, and then go and say "give me money, and we will close the case."

Despite the fact that everything is legal, the agricultural producer is not interested in going to court for a year and a half, and he is not a lawyer. Thus, individual enterprises put on the counter and "train" for money.

Europe dictates the terms of the game

If you produce raw materials, you are very dependent on the market. Market conditions have changed. We had such a lively situation.

In 2012, the Cabinet of Ministers by its decree removed protection from the fields of technical hemp. And by 2016, almost all Ukrainian hemp grain went abroad.

But when Europe adjusted the production of seeds in itself, it became more difficult for Ukrainian companies to sell their raw materials - Europe is trying to dictate terms. And those hemp growers who were engaged only in seeds, and did not go into the production of any final product, felt difficult in the market.

There are no facilities for processing in Ukraine

Manufacturers of hemp product do not feel any better either - in Ukraine there are practically no modern capacities for hemp processing. Since the days of the Soviet Union, only three factories for the primary processing of industrial hemp have remained in the country. Two of them are in the Sumy region, one more - in Poltava.
