Problems and prospects of using therapeutically active elements of cannabis as a basis for nutraceuticals

It was decided that it was necessary to initiate the creation of an interdepartmental normative legal act on the part of the Ukrainian Technical Hemp Association, regulating the maximum allowable amount of tetrahydrocannabinol in the final product. Those. document, which will mark the "launch" of the market, which will be based on the legal use of the leaves and inflorescences of therapeutic hemp, which has not only significant healing / health properties, but also a huge export potential.

During the round table, the attention of the Hemp University listeners, as well as those present, was focused not only on the rapid development of the hemp nutraceutical market, but also on the fact that the use of the therapeutically active properties of the plant as pharmaceuticals is of interest from 6% (USA) to 12% (Uruguay) of consumers. Diagrams are given, according to which, even in pharmacies in the USA, Canada, Germany, patients in 50% or more of cases do not purchase pharmacological preparations based on the therapeutic properties of the plant, but directly the flowers and leaves of hemp for further use of their therapeutic properties.

National breeders presented therapeutic hemp varieties rich in cannabidiol, which have already been entered in the State Register of Plant Varieties suitable for use in Ukraine, as well as developments that in a few years will help bring to the market plants rich in other non-drug cannabinoids (cannabigromen, cannabigerol, etc.) etc.).

The use of various constituents of hemp in food products in the world and Ukraine

The rapidly developing market for leafy greens in economically developed countries was clearly demonstrated, using the “green mass” of the hemp plant as a tasty and healthy base for salads.

The head of one of the enterprises of the Association members, drew the attention of listeners to the experiment initiated by the Association "Ukrainian Technical Hemp" to feed domestic animals (pigs, sheep, cows) with hemp flowers in order to determine the increase in dry weight, and in the future to determine the imparting of therapeutic properties to meat and milk of animals , which will feed with leaves and inflorescences of therapeutic hemp.

Supplements based on the therapeutic properties of hemp

A significant number of questions were raised by the presentation concerning national developments in the field of using the therapeutic elements of the plant as various kinds of additives (food, dietary, biologically active, sports), as well as the developed methods that allow using the whole range of healing / healing properties of the plant to treat a huge number of severe , including chronic diseases.

The prepared presentation demonstrated that national developments in the field of medical use of the therapeutic properties of cannabis are not worse, and in many respects better than what they are currently trying to impose on the market. Based on research materials in economically developed countries of the world, it has been demonstrated that national specialists can effectively use the hemp plant for the treatment of autoimmune, neurological, oncological, neurodegenerative, addiction-related diseases, problems of the gastrointestinal tract or the musculoskeletal system, etc.

Medical cosmetics formulated with various hemp ingredients

A video prepared by our colleagues who specialize in the production of hemp cosmetics, both the audience and the market raised the issue of the problems faced by national cosmetic companies that are working to create drugs based on the therapeutic properties of the plant. The speakers raised the issue of regulating the possibility of using the leaves and inflorescences of technical hemp of therapeutic orientation for the creation of cosmetic preparations by methods that exclude extraction.

The use of hemp raw materials in the pet business

The video demonstrates how the flowers of industrial hemp are used for feeding domestic animals in the world, what developments on this topic exist in Ukraine. In addition, it was demonstrated how promising the market for pet products and veterinary medicine is in terms of the use of therapeutically active elements of the hemp plant.

The audience of the Hemp University and those attending the round table highly appreciated the speech of the head of a national company that specializes in the production of textiles and knitwear, as well as footwear from hemp fiber. The joint developments of the above company with the Hemp Market electronic trading platform for the manufacture of insoles for shoes and face masks from hemp fabric impregnated with an organic-mineral complex of humic substances using the therapeutic properties of hemp indicates that these developments are clearly not worse than the well-known foreign analogues.
