Philadelphia University of Science Launches MBA Program in Contemporary Hemp Farming
The program is intended for students planning to work in the hemp industry in the United States, associated with medicine and pharmacology. The course will include the following disciplines: introduction to the business associated with the use of the therapeutic properties of hemp; hemp finance and regulation; marketing and sales; a project course in which students will work on a business plan for introducing hemp products to the market.
With a certain periodicity, materials related to the creation of training programs for modern hemp breeding in various countries of Europe, Asia, and America are published on the profile electronic resource of Ukrainian hemp breeders. Just a month ago it was described as “The United States University is introducing a master's program in the use of hemp for medical purposes” in Baltimore. This material provides information about another US university specializing in medical and pharmaceutical issues, which launches an MBA program in modern hemp breeding.
Leadership at the University of the Sciences, Philadelphia (University of the Sciences, USciences) has announced that it is launching a hemp business-oriented Master of Business Administration program. At the moment, the University enrolls students for further studies from September 2019 on the MBA specialty of hemp industry in the pharmaceutical and medical fields.
Executive Director of the University of the Sciences Substance Use Disorders Institute of the USciences, Andrew Peterson, told the media that “a new university-based degree program will help prepare professionals for the rapidly growing industry of modern hemp breeding . Technical and medical cannabis has many unique properties and those who work in the rapidly growing industry of modern hemp breeding mostly stand at the forefront of modern science. The hemp breeding program initiated by the University will help formalize knowledge for those who currently work in the hemp industry or are interested in new promising areas in various sectors of modern hemp breeding. ”
The new MBA hemp breeding program at USciences includes training on the use of the therapeutic properties of hemp, as well as the use of plants during dispensary care. It includes four elective courses that were created in collaboration with the Institute for Substance Abuse Disorders, with the involvement of US hemp industry professionals.

As the potential for using the therapeutic properties of hemp spreads across all US administrative divisions, new opportunities will appear for integrating this industry with traditional business sectors, so modern hemp breeding training courses will improve, and their number will undoubtedly increase.

Founded in 1821 as the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy (the first College of Pharmacy in North America), the University of Sciences in Philadelphia currently offers more than 30 programs that students will receive undergraduate and doctoral degrees in health sciences, industry sciences, and health and politics.

The next course of students of the “ Hemp University ” will be recruited for training in October-November 2019. During the second day of the “ Hemp University ” a round table will be held “ Hemp raw materials - technologies for its use in construction, production of biocomposite materials and furniture ”.
