The first cannabinoid clinic opened in the UK
Attention of people in need of cannabinoid therapy with the question of the possibility of wide access to the therapeutic properties of cannabis through the use of food, cosmetics, etc., deliberately switches to the need to use expensive drugs or following certain treatment procedures.
In Manchester, the first specialized clinic in Britain was opened, using the therapeutic properties of hemp to treat patients with medical preparations based on the exclusive properties of the hemp plant. This institution lays the foundation for the widespread use of cannabinoid therapy in England, as in the near future similar medical centers will be opened in London and Birmingham.
In a published press release for the media, English cannabis reported that, until recently, due to the legalization of the use of cannabis for medical purposes in November 2018, few patients could correctly use the range of medicinal properties of cannabis. At the moment, a private Manchester clinic will work with patients suffering from:
• chronic pain;
• neurological conditions (epilepsy, Alzheimer's and Parkinson’s);
• psychiatric problems (various depressive states).
Opens European Cannabis Holdings (ECH), which, together with Grow Biotech and IPS Specials, participated in the first massive import of legal psychoactive cannabis to the UK for medical use in February 2018.
Consultations of specialists in the clinic are paid and one visit will cost £ 250 ($ 327). In order to receive an appointment with a specialist of the newly opened English cannabinoid therapy center, patients will need to receive a referral from a doctor engaged in general medical practice.
According to the director of strategy at the British Center for Medical Cannabis (UK Center for Medicinal Cannabis) Steve Moore (Steve Moore) "Due to the fact that the UK is one of the world's leading financial centers, it is inevitable that in the near future other medical institutions specializing in treatment with the therapeutic properties of hemp. At the same time, this type of access to the medicinal properties of a plant is not a solution for the vast majority of patients who need the ability to use a plant that helps heal a huge range of various diseases.
Immediately after the opening of the cannabinoid therapy clinic in Manchester, representatives of traditional medicine sharply criticized such initiatives. Commenting on the opening of the cannabinoid clinic, the dean of the Faculty of Medicine of the Royal College of Anaesthesiologists (Royal College of Anesthetists) Barry Miller (Dr. Barry Miller) made a statement, in particular, emphasizing that medicine, which, in his opinion, contrasts with very limited data on the use of cannabinoids in various medical practices, primarily for the treatment of pain. As an argument, information is given that cannabinoid therapy clinics are opened even before the time when the results of research conducted on this issue by public research institutions, primarily the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), are published. ).

NICE is the executive non-departmental government agency of the United Kingdom Department of Health, which is authorized to develop guidance documents including in the field of health.
Even for the economically developed countries of Europe at the moment there is no question about the most effective use of the therapeutic properties of cannabis. The main discussion imposed on society is about whether patients use medications based on the therapeutic properties of the plant in the treatment process, or receive medical services in the course of treatment in specialized or ordinary clinics.
The medical lobby needs to switch the attention of potential plant consumers to issues related to the mechanisms of plant acquisition, which implies high profits for companies that produce medicines based on the therapeutic properties of the plant or professionally treat patients in clinics.Attention of people in need of cannabinoid therapy with the question of the possibility of wide access to the therapeutic properties of cannabis through the use of food, cosmetics, etc., deliberately switches to the need to use expensive drugs or following certain treatment procedures.
A similar mechanism of “distraction to an unsuitable object” is used in our country when a discussion platform is being actively promoted, which discusses the need to import medicines into Ukraine, at best, based on extremely expensive extracts of drug-free cannabinoids, which have a minimal therapeutic effect, at worst, based on synthetic cannabinoids that kill the human body. So far no one talks about the possibility of using teas, seasonings, salads, juices, smoothies, cannabinoid cosmetics made on the basis of the therapeutic properties of technical hemp therapeutic orientation without the need for the use of extraction, during which up to 90% of the therapeutic properties of the plant are destroyed, as an extremely cheap and effective cannabinoid therapy products.
An example of consumer sentiment may be the “ Market of legal recreational cannabis in Uruguay ”, only 12% of whose consumers purchase cannabinoid products from pharmacies. The remaining 88% of consumers either grow a plant on their own, or use special clubs for this, i.e. seek to significantly reduce the cost of the final product and their dependence on drugs. Statistical data in EU countries, the USA and Canada repeat information obtained from Uruguay, but in the economically developed countries of Europe and North America, sales of various categories of goods containing drug-free cannabinoids and not classified as drugs or pharmaceuticals are generally permitted.
Unfortunately, on the territory of Ukraine at the moment this kind of products are legally not on sale. This is due to the imperfection of national legislation, when every product containing a trace amount of tetrahydrocannabinol or other cannabinoids falling on the shelves of shops is currently regarded by law enforcement officials as a criminal offense aimed at the sale of narcotic drugs.
